Sally Pudney

Sally Pudney is a landscape painter working in an expressive realistic style in acrylic on board, often with added oil pastel. Her paintings focus on the landscapes and seascapes of East Anglia, with a particular interest in ancient tracks and pathways.

"I love painting the huge East Anglian skies, the quiet lanes and bridleways, the woodlands and estuaries of Essex and Suffolk. I try to capture the way light falls on the surface of water, and the colours, shadows, and movement of trees and fields against those vast skies."

Her work can be seen in ongoing exhibitions at the Church Street Gallery in Saffron Walden, the Buckenham Galleries in Southwold, the Haylett's Gallery (online only at present), and in the annual Anglian Arts Project exhibitions at various venues in Essex and Suffolk. Her work has been short-listed for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

Sally holds twice yearly Open Studio events at her home near Colchester in North East Essex, and is always happy to make appointments to visit her studio.

"I love to be outside in the natural world and I hope my paintings convey something of this life-enhancing pleasure to the viewer."
