Lesley Dabson

Originally Lesley took a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design at Coventry, & after taking a career break to raise her family she returned to art & followed her passion to paint in oils.

Her first love is marine art, striving to capture the abstract quality of water combined with a solid object, a boat, bridge, building or the edge of the coast. Lesley enjoys painting en plein air, working quickly with changing light & conditions. She also loves working in her London based studio, where the focus is often on larger work.

Lesley has exhibited regularly with the Royal Society of Marine Artists at their annual exhibition at The Mall Galleries. She is an elected member of Chelsea Art Society, The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, and a member of the Hesketh Hubbard Life Drawing Society. Drawing from life is an essential practice for her, the society meets almost weekly to draw from life models at the Mall Galleries. She has exhibited with The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Royal Society of British Artists & The Society of Women Artists.

Lesley's work can be found in collections globally, including Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Holland, Greece, Sweden and Spain.
