Chris Slaney

Since retiring from business life in 2014 I’ve enjoyed developing my skills as a printmaker, exploring new methods, materials and techniques and extending my understanding with the generous advice and guidance of other established printmakers. Before Lockdown, I was lucky to be able to travel around quite widely, constantly being stopped in my tracks by great subjects for printmaking and photography - landscapes, people, architecture, artefacts, insects - no matter where the road took me. Apart from travelling widely, very little has changed in the last eighteen months, other than a greater appreciation of the world outside my own front door as a source of inspiration. My original hand-made linocut prints are printed in a small studio at my home in Watford and my photopolymer etchings at Helen Boden's studio in Chesham.
