Alan Snape

After 18 years in an art department at a large comprehensive school in Cheshire, he left teaching to concentrate on working full time as a ceramic artist whilst also tutoring adults in his studio.
After a number of years producing functional domestic ware, Alan then changed direction to create art-based ceramics. Much of his inspiration has centred on the coastline between Southwold and Aldeburgh reflecting sea, sand, shore and also the harbour with breakwaters, boats, ropes, buoys etc. These are often seen on the landscape pots he produces.
Humour is often used within his work such as a polar bear with penguins - North meets South!
