Sharon Baldry was born in Hackney, London in 1960 and moved to a small village in Suffolk in 2016. Having trained as a commercial artist, she quickly became disheartened by the restricted creativity and began selling her own watercolours and is in private collections worldwide. Having experimented in many forms of creative medium she took a short course in stained glass and was totally hooked. She has been working with glass since 2000 and has strived to develop her own style and loves the ever evolving techniques and endless possibilities it brings. Glass, with its rich, yet transparent colour, has its own unique beauty which responds to the movement of its surroundings creating a shimmering, jewel-like quality. After all of this time designing and making, she still finds such excitement in opening the kiln and seeing a new piece of glass art.
