Paul Bruce

Paul attended Ipswich School of Art in High Street, Ipswich in the early ‘60’s and particularly appreciated the inspiration and influence of Colin Moss, Lawrence Self, Richard Pinkney, Bernard Reynolds and John Green.
He was offered a place at the prestigious St.Martins College of Art to study sculpture but in the event went into the Fine Art and Antique business, running his own business for some 30 years latterly working with interior designers worldwide.
Paul returned to full time art some 18 years ago and has exhibited in East Anglia as well as further afield. He has had paintings and sculptures exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London.
His paintings reflect his interest in the atmosphere and light of his native Suffolk landscape.
His sculptures reflect the line of nature, refined by investigative drawings carried out for their own sake as well as precursors to the ensuing sculpture.
Having a deep enduring interest in the Ipswich Art schools history prompted Paul to co-write a book and was involved with both fundraising & advisory committees to secure the future of the High Street building which is now being used as an art gallery.
