Michael Groom

Michael Groom, mosaic artist, lives in Sarratt, Hertfordshire.
Artist statement:
I live in a 17C farmhouse and started making Mosaic Artwork in 2018. I only use recycled materials found in our garden, allotments, rivers, fields, footpaths, litter picking, recycling centres, beach combing and old dump sites. However, today it's not unusual to arrive home and find a bag of broken China/pottery on my doorstep, given by local people.

Making each piece unique and personal, I use pieces of broken blue tiles found whilst clearing my deceased father-in-law's shed and pink tiles found whilst renovating my own home. Therefore, most of my works incorporate a small part of "Ron" or "Our home" in them.

I make commissions using materials donated by the customer, please contact me for further details.
