Matt Brewer

I grew up in rural North Norfolk and my route to becoming a jewellery designer was far from straightforward! I draw inspiration for my work from a number of places including the landscape and nature, from minimalist and modernist design and from the materials I work with.
I initially studied for degrees in archaeology and maritime archaeology, and it was while studying that I took a part time job in jewellery retail. This led to sales roles at some of the most prestigious jewellery retailers in the world, based at their flag ship stores in Old Bond Street, London. Here I developed a passion for the design of fine jewellery, precious metals, diamonds, as well as precious and semi-precious gemstones.

I now create jewellery from gold, sterling silver, precious and semi-precious gemstones. I hand craft all my jewellery in my workshop on the outskirts of the historic city of Norwich. I take pride in using only the best quality metals and constantly strive to better my work and what I do. I am also extremely proud to have my hallmark, featuring my makers mark, MJB, registered at Goldsmiths’ Hall Assay Office in London.
